Circuit training is a workout that combines alternating periods of high-intensity cardio and resistance training designed to be easy to follow and target fat loss, muscle building and heart-lung fitness.

An exercise "circuit" is one completion of all prescribed exercises in the program. When one circuit is complete, one begins the first exercise again for another circuit.

Traditionally, the time between exercises in circuit training is short, often with rapid movement to the next exercise.

  • You can control your workout intensity so that you are working in your target heart rate zone for maximum fat loss

  • A well-designed circuit can help to correct any imbalances that may exist in a regular training program

  • Due to fewer rest periods, you will increase the amount of testosterone you release, which serves to help your muscles grow

  • It is a great way to break out of a training rut. It is hard to get bored when do this type of training

  • You can easily devise your own circuit. Do one set of ten of 6 different exercises(1 per body part). Do the exercises in succession. Repeat 2 or 3 or even 4 times. There is tremendous variety.
