It is possible when you use a combination of circuit training routines, high intensity resistance training and high intensity interval training.
Here's the thing. If you want to get lean you are going to have to put in the work. You will be some type of workout six days a week. And you will have to raise your intensity level.
Ever wonder how the people on the Beach Body P90X workout videos look so good? They actually do the workouts. They don't dog it. They push themselves to the limit and beyond.
You are going to do the same.
Amazingly the best fat burning workout plan can also be the best full body workout. You get the best of both worlds; the workout can be done in minimal time and is on my list of home workout routines.

Here is how this training works as a fat burning workout plan.
You cut out the rest periods and zip through all of your exercises in a row. You will certainly burn some calories, (good for fat loss), develop some muscle endurance and achieve some fitness conditioning.
You can do body weight exercises or more traditional resistance exercises as part of the circuit. The key points are
Perform 2 or 3 sets of an exercise per body part, but not in a row, and do the circuit 2 or 3 times.
High Intensity Interval Training or HIIT is an intense form of cardio.
The simplest version would have you sprint all out for 20-45 seconds followed by a 45-90 second recovery period. You would continue these "intervals" for 10-15 rounds.
The body releases growth hormone during this type of training which is key to losing body fat. Your metabolism will also stay elevated for many hours after your workout, meaning you will continue to burn more calories after you are finished!
So what would happen if you combined the two?
1. High intensity circuit weight training with supersets
AND
2. High intensity interval training (HIIT)
You'd have the near perfect fat burning workout plan combo for the busy person wouldn't you?
Look I'll admit that I get a bit bored with traditional workouts. I want to keep moving. So I change my daily workout schedules very regularly.
I want to keep my muscles and my body in general, guessing. This way I lose fat and maintain muscle.
Here is an example of a fat burning workout plan:
High intensity resistance training followed at the end with High Intensity Interval Training, or HIIT (think wind sprints).
This took 35 minutes total. I then hopped back on the elliptical and did six 45 second sprints with 1 minute of recovery between each one.
You can do any exercises you want. Be intense as you follow a fat burning workout plan. You can lose fat and maintain muscle.
You can fool yourself and think that you lose fat and maintain muscle with minimal effort.
Or you can get off your blubbery butt and get serious about a fat burning workout plan that gets results!
It's your choice.
